While OG has come to be a hip way of referring or showing respect to someone who’s an expert in any facet of life, its origins lie in gang culture. According to Steve Champion and former South Central Los Angeles gang member Anthony Ross in 2006, the term first started being used in the early 1970s by the LA-based Original Gangster Crips. This concludes our series of team profiles ahead of the International 2019. Please check out the other teams who will be competing and let us know on social media which team you think will win TI. Still, if OG has taught us anything, it’s that the underdogs can absolutely win The International.

Despite the replacements of the key players, OG made it to The International 2018. But starting from April 2016, OG began improving their results. The team placed 4th at StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 1 in April, 3rd at EPICENTER 2016 in May, and 1st at DreamLeague Season 5 later.

The team did not do the whole next season after the victory at TI8 well. However, OG managed to earn enough qualifying points to advance to TI 2019 after all. However, the team still was not able to cope with The International. The team placed 7th-8th at TI7, which was no match for «the kings of Majors». Having updated almost the whole roster and left only N0tail and Fly from the past core of the team, it started shining bright.

IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe. Meanwhile, Taiga joins OG after two years as the standout position 4 support player of Team Liquid while Misha joins the team’s active roster as the position 5 after being its coach during The International 10 . They were too new, too untested to threaten the top tier teams. This year, there’s a lot more tape available, there’s a better sense of how well they’re playing together. Last year, they were motivated by emotion as well as the desire to win.

Topson was made inactive on the OG roster in November of 2021, and spent almost the entire year away from competitive play. He returned ahead of TI11, 2022, in dramatic fashion, with him and Ana joining T1 for a miracle run in the Last Chance Qualifiers. However, the team fell short, sending Topson back into semi-retirement. OG’s Twitter account posted a feature consisting of og members and Ceb.

As the world’s largest technical professional organization, IEEE offers a number of ways to get involved with technical and local communities. These communities are active participants in research and authorship, conferences, and important conversations about today’s most relevant technical topics locally and globally. Both Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Martin “Saksa” Sazdov both moved out of the roster earlier this November. Meanwhile, coach 7ckngMad will stand-in for the team.May 28th – s4 and Fly leave for Evil Geniuses.June 4th – ana and Topson join the team.

The level of competition is expected to be very high, especially with TI 11 champions Tundra Esports returning to action for the first time since their massive win. DM will be taking the three position role, and given his performance over recent months, should fit in quite well with the OG play style. He plays many of the same heroes as ATF, with Timbersaw and Mars being his two most played heroes in pro matches, which were both heroes that OG relied heavily on last year as well. OG has become the first team in history to win two The International tournaments, what is more, they did it back-to-back. At the tournament, OG played with the same roster as it had been at the previous one. The whole championship was literally dominated by OG and the team outplayed the champions of 2017 in the face of Team Liquid in the final.

OG, this exact roster of players, have already won the biggest prize in Dota 2. DM joins OG from Virtus.Pro, having joined the organisation in 2020 as part of its junior team, before graduating to the main roster later that year. He would go on to find good success with the team, winning multiple DPC tours in the Eastern Europe region.

This comes after the retirement of Sébastien “Ceb” Debs last week, and Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen both announcing breaks from the game.
